Author Avery Lane Joins Everward Storyworks

Avery Lane

Everward Storyworks is pleased to welcome Avery Lane, a new voice in children’s literature whose stories are built around imagination, adventure, friendship, and the simple wonder of seeing the world through a child’s eyes.

Lane joins a growing group of writers and creative projects being developed through Everward Storyworks and its publishing imprint, Everward Press.

Her arrival also marks something new for Everward.

While much of the work developed through Everward Storyworks has focused on adult fiction, historical storytelling, screenwriting, and stories drawn from real life, Avery Lane will bring younger readers into the Everward family.

Stories Made for Young Imaginations

Avery Lane writes for children with a simple philosophy: a good children’s story should be fun first.

It should make a child wonder what happens next.

It should introduce characters they want to spend time with and places they want to visit again. And, when the final page is turned, it should leave behind just a little something to think about.

Lane’s books will combine storytelling and illustration to create colorful, accessible adventures designed especially for younger readers. Her stories will explore themes such as friendship, curiosity, courage, kindness, family, imagination, and discovering that even ordinary places can become extraordinary when viewed through the right pair of eyes.

Most importantly, they are meant to be books children enjoy.

The Beginning of a New Series

Avery Lane’s first projects for Everward Press will introduce readers to a recurring world of characters and adventures, with individual books numbered so families can easily follow the series in order.

Each story will stand on its own, allowing a child to pick up any title and enjoy the adventure, while returning readers will recognize familiar characters, places, and little details from earlier books.

The goal is to create the kind of series in which finishing one story naturally leads to the question every children’s author hopes to hear:

“Can we read the next one?”

Another Voice at Everward Storyworks

Avery Lane joins writers John DeRossett and Emory Cain under the Everward Storyworks banner, further expanding the kinds of stories being developed by the company.

DeRossett’s work includes November Rain: The River Came at Night, a fictionalized account rooted in the devastating 1985 West Virginia flood and the experiences of the people who lived through it.

Cain brings the screenwriting side of Everward Storyworks to life, including the feature screenplay The Dream in His Pocket, a story about ambition, perseverance, friendship, and refusing to surrender a dream simply because achieving it proves difficult.

Avery Lane takes Everward in another direction entirely—toward children’s books, imagination, and stories created to be shared between children and the adults who read with them.

Different writers. Different audiences. Different kinds of stories.

But the philosophy behind them remains the same.

Stories worth telling deserve a place to live.

And now, Avery Lane has a home at Everward Storyworks.

Welcome to Everward, Avery.
